I spent my weekend engrossed in the film "Anora." If you were to ask me whether I see it as an Oscar contender for Best Picture, Cinematography, Editing, or Writing, I would say I'm not entirely sure about the Editing or Writing. However, I absolutely loved every second of its visual artistry. As I watched, I couldn't help but think, "This is exactly the vision I had for my upcoming project." It's fascinating how a piece of art can resonate so deeply with your own creative aspirations.

For those who haven't seen the film yet, you might want to pause reading this blog and go watch it. If you have seen the film, you'll recognize "Anora" as a technical masterpiece. The director's approach to casting is so natural that it tricks the audience into thinking they're watching a documentary rather than a drama. The film's approach to costume, coloring, and editing feels incredibly fresh and innovative, all while ensuring that the story remains the focal point, which I hope to achieve in my own upcoming project.
As if by fate, a YouTube video caught my attention right after I finished watching "Anora." The host was interviewing Drew Daniels, the DOP for the film. Instead of attempting to paraphrase his insights, I highly recommend watching the interview yourself below, especially if you're a DOP. It provides a treasure trove of valuable information and inspiration.
Watching "Anora" has truly rejuvenated my creative energy and given me a renewed sense of direction for my upcoming project. It's amazing to realize that both the director and I share the same vision for our respective works.
