A few friends have already asked me if I’m going to the Cannes Film Festival.

I don’t often admit it, but I’m an introvert. That’s why I didn’t go before — even when my ex‑producer Judy (rest in peace) urged me to. Her voice still lingers, reminding me that sometimes you have to step into the crowd to let your work breathe.
For too long, I leaned on others. I was spoiled by their guidance, their presence. This year, I chose to stand alone. I completed my Marché du Film registration — a simple form, yet it felt like signing a pact with the unknown. A doorway opening onto a sea I’ve never crossed.
The truth is: I don’t know what I’m getting myself into. I have no idea. But I hope to make new friends there, and to pitch a project or two — Metempsychoses and Breaking Free. One thriller. One drama. Two different currents flowing from the same restless heart.

That means deadlines. That means MAY. That means racing against time to finish all the materials before the festival doors open. Luckily, they’re almost complete. All that remains is rewriting Metempsychoses — a final descent before the ascent.
It’s daunting. It’s exhilarating. It’s the paradox of endings and beginnings. On the final day of 2025, I saw recognition for Melodies of the Abyss. Now, in 2026, I begin again — with new stories, new risks, and the quiet hope that Cannes will hear my voice.
See you there, my friends — or find me hiding in a corner.
